Lori’s Delicious Brownies

  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 can Hersheys Syrup (16 oz can)
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 stick of Butter or Margarine (melted)
  • dash of Vanilla
  • dash of Salat
  • Nuts (optional, and your choice)

Mix above ingredients together and spread evenly into a 9 x 13 inch lightly greased and floured baking pan.  Bake at 375 degrees for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick placed in middle comes out clean.

Frosting:    Melt 6 tblsp butter or margarine; add 6 tblsp milk and 1 1/2 cup white sugar.  Bring to a full boil for 30 seconds.  Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips.  Set pan in cold water for about 1 minute so it thickens a little.

Peanut Butter Crisscrosses

  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 3 cups sifted Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • a dash of Salt

Use the conventional method of mixing cookies, adding the peanut butter before your sifted dry ingredients.  Form into tiny balls.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Press with a fork to make crisscrosses.  Bake at 375 degrees for 10 – 12 minutes.  Makes 8 dozen cookies.

Crisp Delight Cookies

  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 1 c Mazola Oil
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 cup Quick Oats
  • 1 cup crushed Corn Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 cup flaked Coconut
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla

Cream shortening, oil and sugars.  Add egg and vanilla, mix well.  Add flour mixed with salt and baking soda.  Then add other dry ingredients.  Roll in balls and flatten with fork.  Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.  Make about 8 dozen.  Good.

Special “K” Bars

  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 1 cup white Corn Syrup
  • 1 1/2 cup Peanut Butter
  • 6 cups Special K Cereal
  • 1 pkg Chocolate Chips
  • 1 pkg Butterscotch Chips

Bring sugar and syrup to a boil, add peanut butter, mix well.   Pour mixture over cereal and coat well.  Place in a 9 x 13 in pan.   Melt your chips together and stir well.  spread on top of bars.  Very good.   (yet another Plunkett favorite!!)
